What Is Raw/Living Food?
Raw or living food is food that is uncooked, sprouted, or dehydrated at low temperatures to preserve the natural occurring enzymes and nutrients. Enzymes and nutrients begin to be destroyed at 106 degrees. Cooking food changes the molecular structure of the food causing the body to view it as toxic.
What are enzymes?
Enzymes in food help to break down the nutrients so the can be more easily assimilated by the body without using too much of your bodies own digestive enzymes. This helps save energy, which aids in slowing down the aging process, and protecting the body against disease.
Is frozen food still raw?
Freezing food still leaves most of their enzymes intact.
Is it okay to eat raw meat?
You can find raw meat and dairy, but we believe that eating these foods raw is not as beneficial as said.
What is organic?
Organic is food that has not been Genetically Modified, or treated with pesticides or preservatives.
What is Genetically Modified?
Food that has been been gene spliced with animals, germs, people.
What percentage of living foods do I have to eat to be considered raw?
50-100%, even though titles are not important, just try to incorporate as much living foods into your diet as you are comfortable with, and as you start feeling the healing effects of this way of life you will be amazed at how quickly you will start eating 90-100%.
What is vegan?
Not eating ANY animal, fish, fowl, eggs or dairy foods. Not purchasing any product made from an animal.
Are young coconuts okay to eat if their not organic?
Even though the outside of the coconut is most times dipped in some sort of chemical preservative, because of the natural way the coconut filters the water that is inside of it, the chemicals never reach the inside.
What's the best way for someone who eats a meat based (S.A.D.) Standard American Diet to start eating a Living Organ Vegan diet?
The best thing to do is start by going all organic, especially if you're eating animal products & prepare your meals from scratch. Then gradually switch to a vegetarian diet (start with ovo-lacto, by keeping organic dairy & eggs with your organic plant-based diet) & used meat substitutes. When you're ready switch to vegan (no animal products), there are dairy & egg substitutes available for cooking at this point. We suggest doing some reading while switching to your vegan diet, such as, John Robbins "Diet For A New America", to understand more fully on your lifestyle change. It's important to try to make as many of your meals from scratch & not rely on too many prepackaged meals, also feel free to add as many fresh, organic & raw items to your daily diet as you'd like. By now you'll be ready to be as raw as you'd like to be 75% - 100%. Please do this at your own pace, not on someone else's schedule, then it will be perfect for you!
